BREWERTON, NY – The start of Donath Motorworx CNY Speedweek for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) kicked off on Wednesday at the Brewerton Speedway with a new face in Victory Lane. Mahaney bested 37 other drivers for the win the Mach 1 Chassis 25-lap A-Main at a track he had previously called home in the Modified division. Mahaney earned $2,000 for his efforts on Wednesday night. The win also earned points for all campaigners in the NAPA Auto Parts US Tour and the SUNY Canton series.
“This is unbelievable,” said Mahaney after his win. “Doug Emery gave me a great car. This thing is awesome when it gets slick like this. All those years of racing Modified here really paid off. I have to thank my mom and dad for that for putting me through all those years of practice really paid off tonight in a Sprint Car. It’s really cool to finally get my first win in one.”
